Attorney

Lisa Green

Over the past 30 years, Lisa has represented many clients from all over the world in front of USCIS, ICE, Immigration Court, and the Board of Immigration Appeals.  Lisa’s goal is to ensure that those involved in the immigration system receive the best legal representation possible in a rigorous and compassionate fashion. Lisa’s career in immigration law began back in 1984 when she was awarded a full scholarship to the Urban Morgan Institute for International Human Rights at the University of Cincinnati College of Law. Serving as a staff editor of the Human Rights Quarterly, Lisa reviewed manuscripts from leading human rights attorneys and academics from all over the world. After graduating in the top ten percent of her class, Lisa clerked for a judge in Boulder, Colorado.

From 1987 to 1990, she taught at Suffolk Law School in Boston, Massachusetts where she also worked with an organization aiding asylum seekers from El Salvador and Guatemala. Thereafter, Lisa joined the law firm of Stern and Elkind in Denver where she specialized in immigration law from 1990 until 2006. During that time, Lisa was instrumental in starting the Young Lawyers Division of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, an advocacy organization of which she has been a member since 1990.

Lisa opened her own firm in Boulder, Colorado in October 2006 and continues to specialize and limit her practice to immigration law. She has lectured on various areas of immigration law throughout the United States and has published nationally on topics related to asylum law.  Since 2011, Lisa has taught Asylum and Refugee law at the University of Colorado School of Law as an Adjunct Professor.

Lisa is a member of the National AILA Asylum and Refugee Committee where she has served for many years, including terms as Vice-Chair and Co-Chair. In addition, Lisa has served on Colorado AILA’s Asylum Committee since its inception, serving as both chair and vice-chair of this committee. Lisa was instrumental in starting the Colorado Asylum Project, a clearinghouse for indigent asylum seekers. Lisa also serves as a mentor attorney for the Rocky Mountain Immigrant and Advocacy Network (RMIAN) and from 2013-2014, Lisa was the Director of Immigration Law at the Colorado Health Equity Partnership.

Attorney

Tierney Tobin

Tierney graduated from the University of Colorado Law School in 2018 in the top ten percent of her class. She focused her studies on immigration law, delving into both academic classes and clinical work. Tierney  joined the Lisa Green & Associates team full-time in August and was admitted to the Colorado Bar in November 2018.

Prior to law school, Tierney received her undergraduate degree from Bates College and her master’s degree in International Education Development from the Teachers College at Columbia University. She spent three years working for Kwah Dao, a non-profit organization in Thailand that provides educational opportunities for stateless Shan youth and Burmese migrants. During two of those three years, Tierney was the director of the Banyan Center, Kwah Dao’s preschool and kindergarten initiative. It was during her time in Thailand that Tierney’s interest in immigration law emerged and she decided to go to law school.

Though Tierney misses the students and families she worked with in Thailand, she is thrilled to be a part of Lisa Green & Associates and have the opportunity to represent impressive and kind clients. She has also loved every second of living in Colorado and tries to take advantage of the beautiful weather and scenery here by hiking and exploring as much as she can.

Paralegal

Brittany Frysinger

Brittany is a paralegal at Lisa Green & Associates. She joined our team in October of 2017 during her last semester as an undergraduate at the University of Colorado Denver. Before she graduated with a double major in International Studies and Spanish, she actively participated in several exciting projects where she engaged with the international community. For example, Brittany managed a group that created and put on educational puppet shows for Spanish-speaking children and gave a speech in front of 80 people regarding globalism and immigration. These kinds of activities, in combination with a study abroad experience in Venezuela, are what drove her to seek a career in immigration field, where she is able to continue to learn about people from all parts of the globe.

At Lisa Green & Associates, Brittany supports the attorneys in the office by assisting primarily with asylum cases. Brittany utilizes her passion for other cultures and languages to interpret in Spanish/English for our attorneys and other staff, keep in constant contact with clients, research current and past country conditions, and review documents and letters. In addition, as a very detail-oriented individual, Brittany ensures that each client gets individualized care and that careful attention is paid to every case.

Currently, Brittany spends her time out of the office playing with and training her new Husky/German Shepherd puppy and participating in indoor recreational soccer.
